Kindness has always been a core principle of Freemasonry.

Today, as part of the United Grand Lodge of England, we are one of the UK’s top charities and in the last year contributed £48.1 million.

We are committed to helping others, whether locally, nationally or globally. This may be caring for older Freemasons, making voluntary donations to other UK charities or responding to an international disaster appeal however we can.

Some notable donations by the Star of India Lodge include but are not limited to:

british heart foundation

In February 2019 £1,001.00 was donated to the British Heart Foundation, following a very generous donation from Mehool Patel to the Star of India Relief Chest.

Lifelites technology for children’s hospices

In March 2015 £1,000.00 was donated to Lifelites who provide specialist technology for children in every children's hospices across the British Isles.

Masonic Trout and Salmon Fishing Charity

In May 2010 Star of India donated £2,000.00 to the Masonic Trout and Salmon Fishing Charity who provide exhilarating fishing days experience for people with special needs.

Metropolitan Masonic Charity

In May 2010 £2,000.00 was donated to the Metropolitan Masonic Charity who award grants for community support and research projects.

Over the last ten years alone the Star of India Lodge has raised over £31,000 towards great causes on a local, national and global scale. Through fundraisers and donations we have worked together to help improve the lives of countless individuals in need across many sectors from education and community support to healthcare and animal welfare.

MMC, Metropolitan Grand Master’s Tercentenary Appeal

In May 2017 £10,000.00 was donated to the MMC, Metropolitan Grand Master’s Tercentenary Appeal; an appeal to celebrate the 300th anniversary of the United Grand Lodge of England (UGLE), the Freemansonry governing body for the England and Wales. A total of £3 million was raised and 300 charities across England and Wales were nonimated to receive a grant from the Foundation. 
 

Ben Johnson Forget Me Not Foundation

On March 2015 we donated £1,000.00 to The Ben Johnson Forget Me Not Foundation supporting individuals and their families affected by blood cancers.

In December 2011 Star of India donated £1,000.00 to IA, the Ileostomy & Internal Pouch Association, through funds raised at our Ladies’ Night family and friends event.
